The East Is Up for Grabs? 2026-27 NBA Eastern Conference Preview w/ The Dime

The Eastern Conference is wide open, but is there a clear favorite at the top? On this episode of The Baseline NBA Podcast, Cal “Game Face” Lee and Warren Shaw welcome Josh and Kwab, hosts of The Dime, for our 2026-27 NBA Eastern Conference Preview!

We break down all 15 Eastern Conference teams and sort them into four tiers: Lottery Bound, Middle of the Pack, Contenders, and Elite. From the Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets, and Charlotte Hornets looking to climb the standings to a crowded contender group featuring the Celtics, Cavaliers, Heat, 76ers, and more, we debate where every team belongs.

• The New York Knicks stand alone in our Elite tier, but are they truly the team to beat in the East?
• Which teams are being underrated, who could make a surprise leap, and which rankings will spark the biggest debate?

We're breaking down team outlooks, playoff potential, and the matchups that could shape the Eastern Conference race.
